Preview of Istanbul--Part 3--This week, we explore a remarkable collaboration between Turkish ancient instrument artists and a modern orchestra, hearing how the oud (predecessor of our lute), the 5000-year-old ney (a kind of flute), and the even older kaval sound with modern instrumental settings.

Meditations by Charpentier--As a French answer to all the Biber celebrations at the Holland Festival of Early Music 2004, the Pierre Robert Ensemble presented some of the exquisite sacred music of the great French master Marc-Antoine Charpentier, and his rarely-heard contemporary, Daniel Danielis.

Good Friday and Easter: After a return pilgrimage to the Benedictine Abbey of Chevetogne in Belgium, we have brought back a stunning new body of recordings, as this unique group continues its mission of uniting the ancient division between western & eastern Christianity through musical service.

Thomas Tallis--Volumes 8 & 9: Over the last years, we have been tracking the superb project on the English Signum label with the Chapelle du Roi conducted by Alistair Dixon. This week, three CDs in two sets that finish the series: "Lamentations" and "Instrumental Music and Songs.".
