Mass for St. Anthony Abbot--Here are the clues--we know that three manuscript masses by the great Dufay are linked--the great, lost, and perhaps first polyphonic Requiem; the St. Anthony of Padua Mass (recorded by The Binchois Consort); and--just possibly--the lost Mass for the early Desert Father St. Anthony Abbot. This week, we hear what the Binchois Consort believes to be the lost masterpiece by Dufay and parts of an Anthony Abbot Mass by Dufay's compatriot, Gilles Binchois. (repeat of #05-23).
