December 2007 Schedule
Note: All four programs are Christmas-themed.
#07-49: 11/26/07: Schola Hungarica--We recently traveled to Budapest in search of the latest from this extraordinary ensemble that has brought us unusual and rare chant recordings for over 25 years. For the season, we will hear their earliest (their first recording!) and latest Christmas material.
#07-50: 12/03/07: Early Music New York: A Dutch Christmas--Over the years, we have celebrated this ensemble's many Christmas programs during December--this year, festivities from the time of the founding of the Dutch republic and Holland's Golden Age.
#07-51: 12/10/07: A Rose Ensemble Christmas--This Twin Cities-based group directed by Jordan Sramek has presented a number of Christmas-themed programs--we'll sample music from Poland, Bohemia, Spain, and Mexico.
#07-52: 12/17/07: When Augustus Reigned--Back to the Cappella Romana, with their celebration of Christmas music in the Byzantine tradition.
