This year's festival (June 6 through June 30, 2008) looks at the myriad forms of chamber ensembles from major European capitals with a stunning array of soloists. We will preview two great baroque ensembles and two extraordinary soloists.


#08-19: 04/28/08—Concerto Italiano: The brilliant Rinaldo Alessandrini brings his ensemble to Istanbul with a special Vivaldi program featuring soloist Sara Mignardo.

#08-20: 05/05/08—Andreas Scholl: We first presented the young soloist from the Bergen Festival over 15 years ago--with his extensive performing and recording career since, Andreas Scholl (who will perform in Istanbul in 2008) has proven to be one of our most reliable early music vocal specialists.

#08-21: 05/12/08—Accademia Bizantina: A more recent baroque ensemble will give the listeners in Istanbul a thrilling all-Handel program--we'll look at their artistry as well.

#08-22: 05/19/08—Trevor Pinnock: The great keyboard virtuosos and early-music specialist first appeared on Millennium 25 years ago--and will also appear in Istanbul in 2008--we'll hear examples of his artistry.
