Recent releases of works by contemporaries Tomas Luis de Victoria and Giovanni Gabrieli give us a chance to celebrate the season as it would have been four centuries ago.

GIOVANNI GABRIELI (c.1554/7-1612): 

  • Magnificat à 12 (published 1615).
  • Litanie Beatae Mariae Virginis à 8 (published 1615).

III. Victoria: Et Jesum--Motets for Solo Voice (Carlos Mena, countertenor/Juan Carlos Rivera, lute & vihuela). Harmonia Mundi CD HMG 50742.
