SONGS FOR AGING CHILDREN®

Rescued from the Vault!

We are adding something new (and old) to the site for the many who have so generously supported what we do.

In 1984, Martin Goldsmith and I began a program as a special fundraiser for the public radio station WETA in Washington, D.C.

It was dedicated to the proposition that music from the singer-songwriter generation could and should be treated with the same level of seriousness (and sometimes fun) otherwise reserved for classical music.

The program, Songs for Aging Children, rapidly became wildly popular (to this day, people stop Martin and I and invariably that is the topic they bring up). It ran for 20 years, and continued as an occasional program on the SiriusXM folk channel, The Village.

These may not be for everyone, but we are adding them as we can to the site (and, once again these must be remastered from old originals at some expense—if anyone is inspired to underwrite a program, please click the link below).

These programs will have their own place on the site, so if you only desire to hear the Millennium programs, you will enjoy them as always; although, more than once, Songs for Aging Children has also been called a repository for Early Music!
