Program: #01-49   Air Date: Dec 03, 2001

00:00

More from the concert featuring the Schola Cantorum of Basel celebrating the 500th anniversary of the first printed music by Ottaviano Petrucci--including some sacred settings.

Preservation of this program is made possible by a generous grant in honor of Alejandro Planchart.

Note: All of the music on this program was recorded by DRS at the Art Museum in Basel. The Schola Cantorum Basiliensis performed material from the first printed music books, Harmonice Musices Odhecaton B & C. Ottaviano Petrucci published this work in 1501--these concerts celebrate the 500th anniversary of this event.

Support for these programs comes in part from PRS, Presence Switzerland; with additional support from Swiss Radio, Pro Helvetia, and the Embassy of Switzerland in Washington, D.C.
