A Free Medieval Christmas Special For You

Note: Don't miss your FREE SHOW below!

In the humble broadcast building that was the original home of the Dumont television facility outside of Washington, D.C., the fledgling Millennium of Music program was housed in what had become the WETA Radio broadcast studio.

The year was 1980, and already the Boston Camerata had many Vox “Turnabout” recordings available, the Josquin disc on Titanic was new, and I had the pleasure of having my first guest ever, Joel Cohen, come to an obscure cul-de-sac nestled in North Arlington, VA for an interview.

Four decades later, I have had the pleasure of being joined by the Camerata’s long-time performer and now director, Anne Azéma, to share their latest project, a Medieval Christmas. Her wit, intelligence, and devotion to the craft shine through in every performance and conversation.

Happily, we are also offering this new recording as our thank you when you join to support us or give a gift (or make a Preservation Grant) in someone’s name.

These times have been challenging, but there have been other such eras we have survived; the music and the art that nourishes us gives us strength of spirit, comfort and indeed joy, and the courage to forge on. Thank you all for sharing it with us on the program, and the very best to you all for the season and the year ahead.
