From the world-famous Flanders Festival, we go to Bruges as the ensemble More Maiorum directed by Peter Van Heyghen recreates the influence on the new Italian sound on the Lowlands in the first decades of the 17th century

NOTE: From the world-famous Flanders Festival, we go to Bruges as the ensemble More Maiorum directed by Peter Van Heyghen recreates the influence on the new Italian sound on the Lowlands in the first decades of the 17th century. All of the music on this disc was published in Antwerp between 1639 and 1678 except for the Buonamente (Venice), Huygens (Paris), and Merula (Venice).  Soprano Constanze Backes, soprano joins More Maiorum on this disc on the Etcetera label, CD number KTC 4012.
